Making a Critter Condo (Reptile Cage)
First thing you will need to do is decide on the dimensions you want to use for your cage. In this example we have chosen to make a (8x3x2) (LxWxH). Next its easiest to sketch out your ideas and plan how big you want the glass sliding doors and about how much material you will need. In the picture you can see we drew out each piece and even listed the frame which we use for bigger, heavier cages. With this design its helpful if 2 or more people work together because its safer to move big pieces with more help.
The Materials we used in this build were
Everything I pretty much found at Homedepot except for the glass tracks and the Glass which I had made at a local glass company.
Put the glass in and you have got yourself a Critter Condo. We added ceramic fixtures for the light bulbs and you can choose if you want vents or not.
Hope this helps ! |
After you get all the cuts for the Melamine boards and Lumber it is now time to Assemble the cage (dimensions of the cuts varied in the blueprints you can get a basic idea)
